| 説明 | For our first visit to the Poole collection for this year we have an unusual image for him, a "Carte de Visite". While I have seen these cards posted on other photostreams before I am not sure I fully understand their function? Who was Lawrence Anthony and can we find out why he felt the need to have cards to mark his visit - if that is what they were intended for?The general consensus is that this is the Lawrence Anthony (1903-1980) who was a forestry worker, spent some time in the US and UK, and was involved in the Mullinavat church choir. Though having a sad start in life (being orphaned by TB and losing two brothers at a young age), it seems he had a big family himself....Photographer: A. H.
