| 説明 | Potamias, Thassos.One of the fun things to do was take a ride on the Fun Train.There were two options ... you could use it in the evening to go between Golden Beach and Skala Potamias.And a couple of times a week they ran a tour that went from Golden Beach to Skala Potamias, up to Potamias, up a bit further to Panagia, then back to Golden Beach. We did that one.From Skala Potamias we headed up the hill to Potamias itself. This was where we disembarked.The Vagis Museum, Potamias.The Vagis Museum in Potamia houses traditional, realistic, and abstract art by modern artist Polygnotos Vagis. This Thassian emigrant became a very important and well-known sculptor in the United States. His art work is displayed in several American museums today. He died in New York on March 11th, 1965. |
