| 説明 | The hairs of the callus at the the base of the floret serve as barbs to aid in the penetration of this dispersal unit into something like fur, soil, socks, etc. The hairs on the bit of attached rachilla must also function similarly (the callus at the base is derived from the rachilla). This specimen comes from the cropfield west of Alison Park, south of the Museum of the Rockies, Bozeman, Montana. |
