| 説明 | The trial of Thomas Cramner took place in the church of St Mary the virgin in 1555. The trial began on the 12 of September and ended on the 14th of December. Although he signed seven submissions recanting his beliefs he renounced them at the church before being led to the scaffold, thereby depriving Queen Mary of some of the propaganda she had intended. Cramner famously thrust the hand which had sign the submissions into the flames first saying "And forasmuch as my hand offended in writing contrary to my heart, it shall be first burned...." |
