| 説明 | Fendler sandmat, Chamaesyce fendleri, California, White Mountains, Black Mountain, Owens Valley drainage, elevation 2350 m (7710 ft). This species is widespread and common at middle elevations in the southwestern and west-central United States. For botany geeks: the genus Chamaesyce goes back and forth between separate recognition, or synonymy under Euphorbia. Chamaesyce is widely acknowledged to be a distinctive and monophyletic evolutionary lineage within the 1000+ hodgepodge species assigned to Euphorbia worldwide. I therefore continue to use Chamaesyce with the expectation that the rest of Euphorbia will also eventually be dismantled into smaller and more informative genera reflecting other distinct evolutionary lineages. |
