| 説明 | In addition to church services, this was a social gathering place for the summer residents of the campgrounds. I remember plays and skits there. You can see the canvas curtains that may be lowered in the event of a heavy rain. I remember how "close" it got in there with the curtains down. On Sundays, the swimming pool was closed and any noisy activities (like children playing) was frowned upon. But, with a few exceptions, the folks there were good natured and relaxed about it. The Christmas tree in the window was part of a Christmas in July celebration. Those pews were installed in the last decade or so - the original ones were not in great shape - although a handful have been preserved. |
