説明 | Narrow but extra-long crochet scarf, made from thrifted mohair -- 9 cm (3 1/2 in) wide and a whopping 180 cm (6 feet) long, without the fringe!Pattern: my own (double crochet into the spaces, see also this gorgeous afghan by Green Kitchen, which inspired me).Yarn: thrifted mohair - from my mom's stash. Hook: old inox 5mm crochet hook from my grandmother's collectionStarted: Monday 22 Jan, if I remember wellFinished: Wednesday 24 JanI think, in total, the scarf took about 8 hours to make; I'm not a very quick crocheter (or knitter). I thoroughly enjoyed making it, and am totally proud of the result -- it looks ultra crisp. In fact, I wore the scarf already... good sign!Colors are a bit off in the pictures; they're a bright sky blue (same yarn as what I used for my Branching Out scarf), a subdued light marine blue and a rather bright turquoise green (darker than in the picture - the green is the most bright and outstanding color in the scarf, actually).I added a fringe, but you can see that, even after blocking, it's still a bit frilly. I don't mind about that... but it makes it obvious that the yarn comes from a frogged sweater. No more mohair in my stash left! So -- I can go buy new skeins! Whee! |
