Les ruines de l'ancien château féodal: le donjon carré du XIIème siècle, les ruines des 3 enceintes des XIIème et XIIIème siècles.Le château fort, construit au XIème siècle par Foulques Nerra, comte d'Anjou, fut reconstruit au XIIème siècle par Hugues Ier d'Amboise.En 1188, Philippe Auguste le reprit aux Anglais.Il appartint jusqu'au XVème siècle aux Amboise, puis fut donné par Charles VII à La Trémoille.Il appartint ensuite à Guillaume d'Harcourt, au roi Louis XI (1461) et à Louis XII, aux Beaune-Semblançay, au chancelier Hurault de Cheverny, au marquis d'Effiat, au ministre Choiseul, enfin au duc de Penthièvre.Montrichard (Loir-et-Cher)The ruins of the old castle: the square tower of the twelfth century, the ruins of three enclosures twelfth and thirteenth centuries.The castle, built in the eleventh century by Nerra Fulk, Count of Anjou, was rebuilt in the twelfth century by Hugh I of Amboise.In 1188, Philippe Auguste taken up the English.It belonged until the fifteenth century, the Amboise, then, was given by Charles VII to Trémoille.It then belonged to Guillaume Harcourt, then to King Louis XI (1461) and Louis XII, then the Beaune-Semblançay, Chancellor Huraults de Cheverny, the Marquis d'Effiat the Minister Choiseul, finally the Duke of Penthièvre.L'église Sainte-Croix fut précédée, au XIe siècle, par une chapelle castrale édifiée au même endroit. L'église doit son nom à une relique de la vraie croix, rapportée de Jérusalem, offerte par Foulque Néra. Sainte Jeanne de France, fille de Louis XI, y a été mariée, avant de devenir la fondatrice de l'ordre monastique des Annonciades en 1502. Reconstruite au XVIIIe siècle, la chapelle devint église paroissiale.The Holy Cross Church was preceded by a chapel of the eleventh century.The church owes its name to a relic of the true cross, brought back from Jerusalem by Fulk Nera, count of Anjou.The daughter of Louis XI, Saint Jeanne de France, was married in this church.
