| 説明 | Oxytheca dendroidea is a distinctive annual even in pre-flowering condition. It is most abundant on sandy substrates, has a characteristic rosette of linear hairy leaves each with inrolled margins, and has glandular stems. These diagnostic traits are needed because this annual does not flower until late summer, which is taken as an indication that it is tied into the soil microbial community. This annual does not occur in regularly disturbed sites such as roadside. This site lies in the Wyoming big sagebrush steppe of the Idaho National Laboratory to the north of the main southern entrance and to the east of Lincoln Blvd, Butte County, Idaho. |
