| 説明 | Formation: Chilliwack BatholithRock Type: "Granitic" inclusive quartz diorite and GranodioriteFound: Highway 20 from Damnation Creek to Newhalem and north to the Canadian Border.GranodioriteThis mass of once molten rock intruded the Cascade River Schist and Skagit Gneiss and crystallized in two stages. First, the granodiorite, consisting of visible crystals of quartz, feldspar, and mica, crystallized from the melt. Second, during the later stage of crystalization, a hot, watery solution separated from the melt, forming a very coarse-grained patch of light colored quartz and feldspar called a pegamite. |
