| 説明 | Despite it's age, dating to the BC era, the present building looked to be in a particularly sound and great condition. It has of course been rebuilt and refurbished several times over the years. Here are the walls and foundations of the original church, dating back to the 2nd to 1st century BC. Wow, now that looks historic! They have put up clear acrylic sheets over all the pits on the church grounds like this excavation of the original foundations and several crypts complete with the original skeletons (pictures follow) to prevent debris and water collecting inside them and to protect them from people and their trash.
