| 説明 | While on a bike ride at 530pm yesterday I decided I wanted to head to the beach (an hour away) to catch the sunset....rush home, shower, gas the car, grab a mocha, pick up my friend..... Hours later, after lots of pictures and the last bit of color was gone from the sky we were driving out of the crowed resort area when I see a little dog almost get hit by a van. I can tell he is lost. I stop the car and jump out. As I approach he stops and rolls to his side. I pick him up and he sweetly cuddles to me. He is a mini yorkie type, (almost a purse dog) well groomed, no collar; he shakes each time he hears fireworks. I am standing on the street corner, talking to anyone who will listen, no one knows of a lost dog, or is from this area. Finally a man helps, he brings water, he calls the police and gives us the address of the local humane society. He says we can put the dog in a cage over night. I say no way. My friend urges me to at least look. I am trying to figure out how I can take him home over night, then return tomorrow--an hour ride each way when my own dog Casper is sick and has a vet appt at 11am. We arrive at the humane society and much to my surprise I am very pleased with the set up, we put the dog in a carrier, then in a cage and lock the cage. No one can steal him tonight! I am not sure we did the right thing, but I did what I thought was best. I just know somewhere tonight a family is very sad. I know they will be looking and calling around tomorrow for him!EXPLORE July 8, 2009 |
