So the doctors would treat this hysteria through a special massage that would help the woman to have a paroxysm, since an "orgasm" would imply that women had sex drives, which we all know that they dont. (lol)Women were visiting their doctors regularly for treatment, too regularly in fact, and so the docs were coming up with better ways to produce the results faster and without tiring out their overworked hands. Some of the inventions even included a steam powered fuck machine, for real. Eventually, someone figured out the magic of an offset motor, and eventually marketed it. You could even buy a "lady's home companion" in the Sears catalog for a while. It even advertised such claims as "creates pleasing sensations deep within you."Of course, in the 70's vibrators began appearing in pornos, it was seen as filthy again and the vibrator went away from the public view.
