説明 | It took us some time to find the entrance of the Acropolis hill. We walked all around Plaka through narrow streets and passageways, then back to Agora, where we found the gate. Although it was still spring, it was incredibuly crowded. We could hardly move up. The Erechtheion is very beautiful, the most holy building of Acropolis with women carrying the roof and inhabited by the goddess Athena Polias and the god of the sea Poseidon. It was not easy for them to live together there so there used to be lots of disputes and discussions. The museum of Acropolis was being replaced to the new building, so after walking through the pleasant Agora park we went to the National Archeological Museum. An amazing place whewre you can spend the whole day watching the most beautiful vases and sculptures ever seen. We had a drink and sandwich in cafe Neon on Platia Omonia and walked along the market halls with a horrible smell of dead animals. Back in Plaka we bought some souvenirs, strolled around and chatted with some Russian owner of a fur shop. In Psiri we found not only lots of interesting street art (graffity), but also a nice cosy fish restaurant called after the island Naxos, where we had dinner outside. |
