| 説明 | As graceful as they are in the water, Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles have four left feet when on dry land. Here, this turtle struggles to get his footing after surfing up on the beach to rest. In addition to their daily struggles with sunbathing, this endangered species risks poaching, and recently an increase in cancerous tumors like the one seen here on his face. Researchers know the the tumors are caused by the papillovirus and spread by leeches and other parasites, but are still struggling to determine what is causing the recent increase in cases. |
