| 説明 | Don't see that every day. This giant fire fighting bird, a converted 747, was snapped at work just south of Interstate 10 as a friend and I were on the return leg of a recent trip to the L.A. area.It's not as low as it looks, the hilltop is between me and the plane. But it was still low enough to make me wonder how much less retardant they could carry considering it also had to carry the giant brass ones on the pilot. A swarm of spotter craft circled and shadowed the jumbo as it made its way around the fire, ensuring skies were clear. It did two drops in the time it took my friend and I drove past. |
