| 説明 | The Suvarnabhumi International Airport's (BKK) Air Link station to downtown Bangkok, Thailand. I've used this train into Bangkok on all except one of my trips into Bangkok, (5 so far...) and many of my trips back to the airport... (one time my flight was before the MTR started running, and one of my "girlfriends" in Thailand [who accompanied me to the airport...] liked taxis...) Taken by a Nikon D610 at ISO 400 with a Nikkor 50mm ƒ 1.4 AF-D lens. Exposure is 1/25 sec @ ƒ 2.5.Geotag is approximate: this is underground, and BKK is confusing...Hint: if you're staying in the Sukhumvit area, get off at the Makkasan station, and take the MRT (note: NOT to be confused with Hong Kong's MTR system!) one stop towards Hua Lumphong, and exit at the south end of the station (look for "Terminal 21" signs...) that big street running east-west (approximate...) is Sukhumvit (...and the MTR station is so-named...) - and the north-south street is Soi 21, also known as Asoke Road. From there you should be able to find your hotel (Soi Cowboy is just around the corner, BTW...) Sois go down to the west, up to the east. Odd sois are on the north side of Sukhumvit. Walk from there, or there's a Skytrain station (Asoke) right over the intersection, but the next stop to the west is Nana (Soi 5...) and to the East is Phrom Phong. (Soi 39) Using this hint saves you some Baht and a fair amount of time... Remember, Thailand drives on the left, just like the UK... One word of warning: the even sois don't match the odd sois! Find a map of the Sukhumvit area (or use Google Maps...) to find out which even-numbered soi matches what odd-numbered one, if your hotel is on that side of the street. Example: Soi 15 is almost directly opposite Soi 12... There's even sub-sois to worry about (for example, Soi 7/1, the notorious "dirty alley" with massage parlors. [where they rub more than backs...])Note: when dis-embarking from a plane, and on the trip into a city from the airport, I'll usually have my hands full with my traveling (max carry-on size) camera case, (Pelican 1510, with wheels [~20Kg]) AND my checked baggage, (max sized, also - and a "spinner" [~22Kg]...) not to mention my laptop's case on my back (it's a "Day Pack"); so there usually aren't a lot of shots until after I check into my hotel/motel... |
