説明Place: Liping, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou ProvinceChinese name: 云雀GHK7071A风之翼 (yúnquè GHK7071A fēngzhīyì)Year of launch: 1993One of my favourite finds during my China trip was this Yunque, one of those cars I really hoped to encounter. Thankfully I saw one of those cars produced by the company called Guizhou Yunque, in its home province Guizhou. The Yunque Subaru joint venture produced the GHK7071 series based on the second generation Subaru Rex/Mini Jumbo from 1993 and was joined by the GHK7070 or Subaru Vivio in 1995. The latter one didn't sell well: apparently just 12,000 units in eight years, including 1,296 units in 2003. The dated GHK7071 performed better. Latest versions, like the one I spotted, had a 658 four-cylinder engine with EMPI or electronic multipoint injection. It was facelifted in 1998. Latest versions had an interesting looking bodykit and had the name WOW (Wings of Wind) added to the GHK7071A code name. Production at Yunque went quickly downhill, with 165 units in 2004, 32 in 2005 and 20 in 2006. The company was bought by Youngman, the company that later started production of Lotus (or Europestar) badged Protons on the Chinese market. However, these weren't produced in the old factory in Guizhou. The factory currently apparently produces some low-speed vehicles in small numbers.
