| 説明 | Harold was found by my new friend Monika and her boyfriend somewhere on their way back from their holiday. He was seconds away from death, in an absolutely awful state. They nurtured and healed him for as long as he required it, but they couldn't keep him, as he's too weak and too old to walk up and down the stairs.So my parents took him home.Yesterday we bought him a brand new, soft dog-collar. It's red, so that if, God forbid, he'd get lost, everyone would immediately see, he's missed somewhere. Today in the morning I attaached an address capsule to the collar. But as far as I can see, I don't really think he's planning to leave.We're all happy to see him walking around the garden, but he's resting most of the time anyway. He needs to be reminded to eat and drink when he wanders too far away from his bowls, but apart from that, I really think he's doing well.I was desperate to name him after the dog from Mad Max or Fallout, because I think he looks the same. Unfortunately, Max's dog is called Dog and the one from Fallout - Dogmeat - not a great name for a dog that's been through all that.So I decided to name him Harold, after the most respectable and lovable character in the Fallout series. He had a long life and I hope so will this guy. May his happy days last longer than the terrible ones. |
