| 説明 | Graduates celebrate as 22 weeks of toil, hard training, studies and encouragement as only military instruction can provide ends with the playing of Pomp and Circumstance for 95 cadets of the North Carolina National Guard’s Tarheel Challenge Academy at the Stanly Country Agri-Civic Center in Albemarle, North Carolina, Sept. 29, 2017. “They have proved a second chance works,” said Army Lt. Col. Maury Williams, a NCNG leader and the director of the academy. The ceremony concludes the residency course of the quasi-military program providing at-risk teens an opportunity to change their future and succeed outside of a traditional school setting by learning self-discipline, leadership, and responsibility while working to obtain a high school equivalency diploma.
