| 説明 | Friends and family congratulate New London Tarheel Challenge Academy graduates at the Stanly Country Agri-Civic Center in Albemarle, North Carolina, Sept. 29, 2017. Twenty-two weeks of toil, hard training, studies and encouragement as only military instruction can provide at the NCNG academy ends with the playing of Pomp and Circumstance at their graduation ceremony. “They have proved a second chance works,” said Army Lt. Col. Maury Williams, a NCNG leader and the director of the academy. The ceremony concludes the residency course of the quasi-military program providing at-risk teens an opportunity to change their future and succeed outside of a traditional school setting by learning self-discipline, leadership, and responsibility while working to obtain a high school equivalency diploma.
