| 説明 | It seems also to commemorate the composer Heinrich Schütz 1585-1672 (good old age!) whose museum was located in the town. The style is very socialist realist. An odd style if only for perhaps the most famous 17th centre composer, along with Monteverdi before Bach. This memorial was apparently dedicated in 1985, the 400th anniversary of his birth - a good year for German composers, as Handel and Bach also emerged in that year, This triptych was designed by Berndt Wilde (1946-), now of the Berlin Weissensee Kunsthochschule, and shows the opposing forces of good and evil, love and hate and life and death. HEINRICH SCHUETZ 1585 -1672 SAECULI SUI MUSICUS EXCELLENTISSIMUS Another Scheutz commission from Wilde is located just west of the Zwinger in Dresden at the Semper Oper.THe Jugendstil Hotel Goldner Loewe has since been restored and has now received a third storey rising to the height of the art nouveau decoration. It was built between 1906-8 as the upper floor of the town's re-established Brewery. |
