| 説明 | Seems like a lot of people don't understand the concept of trade offs when talking about healthcare, taxes, transportation, or whatever. Last Saturday, as the Amtrak train zoomed past Boulevard Park, I commented how sleek it looked. Someone else was saying that they think it goes too fast through populated areas. It's a trade off. The price we pay for not having all of Amtrak be a slowpoke service. Both the pedestrian and the car crossings, at Boulevard Park, have signals and crossing arms. Safer than 35 mph arterioles through town. The rest of the track, by the park at least, is behind fences. It's not perfect, but nothing is. Maybe we should raise taxes and also make railroads, that own the track, pay more. Make the railroad into a subway. Oh, then we can't see the view out the train windows. We need "virtual reality" windows. Show nice scenery on the screens of an underground train? |
