説明 | A common bunched sedge in the dry subalpine to alpine meadows in the Spanish Peaks region that has most of the diagnostic traits of Carex paysonis, including dark pistillate bracts and ovate perigynia with a generally distinct submarginal vein. The pistillate bracts that have a light midrib and are a bit longer than the perigynia are suggestive of Carex spectabilis, which is known in Montana from the extreme northwestern part of the state. However, the basal leaf blade are copious and few if any basal leaf sheaths are without leaf blades. This site lies at the head of Bear Basin, Madison Range, Gallatin County, Montana. |
