| 説明 | Our bus arrived soon enough, and we were soon off on our way to the last part of our tour for the day, to the Shangri La River Resort. Totally geared towards tourists and rather kitschy, Shangri-La Guilin is located 15 km north of Yangshuo and 50 km south of Guilin city. It is a nature park built around a small lake. The park is not particularly big and nor is the lake. However most of the buildings in the park are themed, structured primarily on the Miao and Dong minority who mostly live more north of Guilin then in this area. Once inside the park you can take a boat to cross the lake and visit a cave and a forest of peach trees. According to the legend there was a poet who called this place Shangri-La Guilin. Ours was a quick tour, so although we did do the boat tour and spot peach blossoms, the cave and peach garden were not included. (Shangri La River Resort, Yangshuo, Guilin, China, May 2017) |
