| 説明 | I have no idea what this is called. It is velvety, iridescent black, both beautiful and very creepy looking, with whiskers like a black cat on LSD. Found it growing at the Lyon Arboretum, a collection of exotic jungle plants in the rain forest of upper Manoa Valley, Oahu, Hawaii. c. 1994. A fun place to visit if you want to see species not normally seen in the USA such as cacao (source of chocolate) and achiote (source of the orange dye that once made butter yellow) trees. |
