| 説明 | As one of the leading cancer treatment centres in the south-east, the Kent Oncology Centre is committed to providing optimum cancer treatment, care and support to cancer patients. The Centre provides an integrated tailored service to over 300 new patients every month and cares for a population of 1.8 million people.Established in 1999, the Kent Oncology Centre now encompasses the Clinical Oncology Department at Kent & Canterbury Hospital and the new purpose-built facility at Maidstone Hospital to provide a Kent wide service to cancer patients.The Kent Oncology Centre continues to expand to meet the growing needs of patients. A new Haemato-Oncology Unit was opened at Maidstone Hospital in 2006 and provides treatment for cancers of the blood and lymphatic system. During 2006, the Kent Oncology Centre also began working in partnership with Mid-Kent NHS Treatment Centre to provide ambulatory chemotherapy.Consultants at the Kent Oncology Centre work in collaboration with colleagues from other specialist services across Kent in multidisciplinary teams. This enables them to provide best care available today.Facilities offered to patients at the Kent Oncology Centre include medical consultation, diagnostic imaging, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, brachytherapy, haemato-oncology, and pharmacy services.
