説明 | Common name: White Plumeria, White Frangipani, Temple tree, {Golenchi गुलैन्ची, Golachin गुलाचिन, Champa चम्पा} (Hindi), Khagelleihao (Manipuri), Kathgolop (Bengali), Nela sampangi நெல ஸம்பங்கி (Tamil), Chafa चाफा (Marathi), Champe चाम्पॅ (Konkani)Botanical name: Plumeria alba- [ (ploo-MEER-ee-uh) referring to a plume or feather, (AL-buh) meaning white ]Family: Apocynaceae (dogbane, or oleander family) - [ (a-pos-ih-NAY-see-ay) from the Greek apo (away from or away with) and kuon (dog) ]Origin: South East AsiaEach of the separate species bear differently shaped leaves and their form and growth habits are also distinct. The leaves of P. alba are quite narrow and corrugated, unlike any other. Leaves of P. pudica are remarkably unique with their elongated oak shape and glossy, dark green color. P. pudica is also one of the rare everblooming types with non-deciduous, evergreen leaves.
