| 説明 | This is the basic layout of our backyard, in the state it was in when we moved in. This image is drawn from memory. The back yard is fenced in, and the slashed lines represent the back of the house. The left side of the fence butts up against a small hill and then the side walk and street. The top butts up against a gravel alleyway. The right side has a row of trees (mostly smallish oaks) that are all on the neighbors property (along with a bit of poison ivy). The gray square is our two car garage. There is a big walk way going from the garage up to the steps of our back door. Flanking those steps are camellia bushes. All the small pink circles represent azaleas. The box and long green bushes are boxwood. The top right hand corner is a fenced in plot that we were told is a "dog run", but it could be a pet cemetery or something creepy like that. The row of circular bushes on the left are ligustrum (or privet). There were two planting areas that were marked off with bricks (one on the left, one on the bottom). The left one was overgrown with grass and you could hardly see the bricks. The one towards the bottom of the image is full of wild strawberries and weeds and gets full shade (south corresponds to roughly 4 to 5 o'clock on the image). The small gray square is our AC condensing unit, and the larger brown box is a small raised bed that didn't have anything but weeds growing in it (and has quite a lot of sand towards the bottom). Along most of the top and right parts of our fence is growing honeysuckle. There are small patches of spider grass and daffodils around the yard. The bottom right hand corner has a small tree/large bush that we have not been able to identify and is not drawn in the image. The consistency of the grass is rather poor. There is a lot of dandelion and plantain growing, patches of crab grass and wild onions, clover, and other random weeds (let's not mention the brier I've had to fight in various parts of the yard). |
