| 説明 | More steamed goodies on display on Yangshuo's historic West Street. Again, I could not identify what it was as the signage was in Chinese and the woman in charge moved away as soon as I raised my camera. But purple food? That reminded me of the purple hopia stuffing (hopia is a stuffed sweet pastry from the Philippines) and Ube flavoured milk shake I'd seen on Baker's Hill in Puerto Princesa in the Philippines back in 2013. Ube is flower used as a flavouring in the Philippines. The purple colour of the flower yields a pretty unusual colour to food and stuff flavoured with it turn out in this Unusual purple shade as seen here. Detailed notes about the Yangshuo West Street appear in detail in previous captions. (Yangshuo, Guilin, China, May 2017) |
