| 説明 | There's snow outside on the ground, and we can't get any heat to work. The central h/a unit to the north half of the house won't turn on. The unit to the south half of the house only blows cold air. I can't figure out how to turn on the wood or diesel based "Behemoth" in the basement, resulting in billows of smoke throughout the house that drove us all outside to stand in the cold, coughing and sputtering for air. Today I came armed with 2 small floor heaters, and between these little guys and an "iffy" fire in the rusted great-room fireplace, we managed to get the temp of the top 3 stories into the 60's (barring the bedrooms, which had their doors closed). I know nothing about fireplaces, but Mom told me the damper was half open (wouldn't budge anyway) and that the chimney was "drawing" great. I lit a gingerbread scented candle on top of the mantle, and it did a reasonable job of masking yesterday's smokey fiasco.Somehow this photo ended up in a comment on The Brazen Careerist, (wasn't a comment I made, btw,) and in eHow. |
