| 説明 | THE POSTAGE PARADOXI needed three envelopes to mail out some stuff, but of course envelopes don't seem to come in anything less than a 50-pack -- except for special envelopes that cost more than the 50s, anyway. So with my envelope surplus, I decided to try something:I filled out three letters, putting my present address in the return address and my soon-to-be address in the TO part. That way if I got the letters, I'd know to which address it followed. The final ingredient was to not put on any postage.The addresses are both in State College, PA. The first letter I sent from my hometown in Lancaster County. The second letter I sent from Berks County. The third letter I sent from local State College. Again, no postage on any of them. All three letters arrived at my current apartment -- the return address -- just as I had hoped for.I wonder what went through the postal people's minds when they found these letters outside of State College without postage... or if they even thought anything of it at all. Regardless, I now have a free method of letter mail. Next up: trying to ship something to myself at no cost. |
