| 説明 | My Dutch friend Chris 1971 has very kindly taken some bank photos and sent them to me. Chris has great money sense and no Pro account. He's given me permission to upload these wonderful photos of Dutch bank offices.I hope to visit Nederland myself one day.I must admit that I had never heard of the city of Dordrecht before Chris sent me this photo. Subsequently, a travel guide that I was reading states that Dordrecht in the province of South Holland (Zuid Holland) is the oldest city in Holland, having obtained its charter in 1220. It was also the most important port and trading centre in the area until the 1500s, when Rotterdam gained prominence over Dordrecht.Judging from this beautiful building, it's obvious that Dordrecht remained a wealthy and proud town well into the 19th century and the present day.Fortis Bank was a Belgian-Dutch financial giant that has fallen victim to the 2008 Great Banking Collapse. Its Belgian banking operations were sold to France's BNP Paribas. Its Dutch operations (including the branch seen here) was nationalised / nationalized by the Dutch government. |
