| 説明 | All the senses are acutely receptive when exploring with a camera. With every click of the shutter, and throughout the duration of observing, the mind records vast information by osmosis; continuous absorption. But there are some sounds and events we may wish not to have experienced. Here, in the nearer dormered con-joined home lived an extremely unhappy couple. They were having a violent brawl. It concluded with the male kicking their cat. He then uncapped his stubby of beer, sat down on the front step and guzzled it. That was the moment I decided was the the shot. So here it is - his self righteous profile with raised stubby is visible. This is typical of many such ugly scenes I have regularly witnessed throughout my life in Australia. My life here has so often been emotionally seduced by the picturesque, then, once within its spell, the experience is polarised by the paradox of the locals inhabiting living conditions most people would find ideal, but they prove to be violent misfits who cause a regretted negative experience. This and many similarly dark experiences led me to record them as a series in this dark low key manner; where only the highlights have been retained while the black dominates. |
