| 説明 | The ceiling at Stockholm Central Station seems to be composed of elliptic arcs. I first thought it was cycloids, but they would meet the pillars at a slightly noticeable angle and have less of a "shoulder". One reason to use cycloids is noise reduction: the cycloid lacks a focal point, so there is no concentration of sound. On the other hand, putting the loudspeakers along the focal point axis (which seems to be the case here) allows them to distribute sound efficiently. |
