| 説明 | As a Chief Investigator for the Chicago Police Department, Richard Cain forced confessions from mob informants and was a mobster himself. He was implicated in a number of burglaries and bank jobs which earned him three years in prison. After he was paroled in 1971, he fled to Mexico where he became a chauffeur to Sam Giancana, former godfather of the Chicago Outfit. Giancana's godson (also named Sam) wrote in the book "Double Cross" that it was actually Richard Cain, along with Charlie Nicoletti, not Lee Harvey Oswald, who was in the book depository in Dealey Plaza and shot President John F. Kennedy. After returning to Chicago in December, 1973, Cain was shot and killed by two gunmen in the former sandwich shop pictured here.Located at 1117 W. Grand Ave. |
