説明 | The swastika, all but banned in the West, is still a common and richly-held symbol India (and much of Asia), used in its square, clockwise form. From Swastik brand rice on supermarket shelves to major corporate logos, to swastikas gracing schools, temples, government offices, to those adorning sidewalks or homes like above - this very ancient symbol is used everywhere without stigma and always with well meanings. In fact the most important symbolic elements of spirituality and wishes of fortune such a temples, weddings and gifts are the most decorated with the symbol. As well as good fortune and wealth the swastika can mean holiness, auspiciousness, eternity, peace, the universe and even God. I was surprised to learn it was an ancient symbol across every continent and every major religion until recently corrupted by its use by the Nazis this century. |
