| 説明 | This is the area of London known as Crystal Palace, named after a large exhibition building that sat on the site during the period 1853-1936. The location is the rectangular area running left to right in the upper-centre of the pic, in front of the Crystal Palace broadcasting and telecommunications tower - which is the fifth tallest structure in London, at 719 feet (219 metres).A quirky fact about this area is that a memorable part of the 1969 film "The Italian Job" was filmed here. The famous scene is where a van is completely blown up during the preparations for the heist and Michael Caine says "You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!" It was filmed at the athletics track here. |
