| 説明 | The place where 39 men and 1 woman met their end. They were tied to the chairs which contained cyanide tablets beneath their chairs. Pulling the red lever send water into the contained which produced cyanide gas which painfully killed the inmate in a few minutes. There were a few times when there were dual executions. Most disturbing is that many of the executions of the 1930s involved black men accused of rape. I don't support capital punishment as it is never without some doubt and in the early decades I imagine it served as a type of legal lynching. The other side of the wall allowed the victims family to watch. The room to the right was used infrequently when family members of the inmate wished to see the execution. |
