| 説明 | Official Navy Photo # F644C3567 showing USS South Dakota after repairs from the naval battle at Guadalcanal, 14-15 Nov, 1942 where South Dakota was hit by 26 projectiles fired from Japanese ships, causing enough damage to force her back to the N.Y. Navy Yard on 18 Dec, 1942. Repairs and updates were completed on 20 Feb 1943 when she left to join Task Force 61 at Scapa Flow. View looking aft from Bow. Note: identification table was replaced, original was damaged. |
