| 説明 | President, secretary and councilor of the water committee.Ituri is exceptional in that 60% of the district has access to water sources. The challenges is to ensure the sources stay clean. UNICEF, Solidarités and the community have worked together to build clean water sources.The committee manages the source. Each family pays 50 congolese francs a month. The charge is voted upon by the community and the committee. The charge is calculated so that no family is excluded. The funds raised are used to pay for maintenance and improve the site. In this case the funds paid for a kilo and a half of nails, whilst the committee organized wood and rattan to screen the source from animals. The water committee also has access to a tool box that is stored at the health centre. The tool box is for cleaning out the ditches that flow from the source.So far 70 out of 100 families have paid. The treasurer intends has not had time to get round to the remaining thirty. |
