| 説明 | Strings of fresh marigold flowers being prepared before they are put into transparent poly-bags for sale in the Bangkok Flower Market or Pak Khlong Talat. Beautiful though they are, paradoxically it is not considered appropriate to gift a Thai marigold flowers (or carnations as well, for that matter), as the Thais generally associate these flowers with funerals. Though not on the regular tourist trail, Pak Khlong Talat does appeal to visitors seeking a Bangkok experience that captures the daily goings-on in the city. The Bangkok Flower Market has a cramped and chaotic feel, similar to nearby Chinatown, and many first-time visitors do sometimes feel disoriented amidst the colorful sights and seductive smells of this sprawling market festooned with endless rows of roses, ornate orchids, crisp carnations, and miles of marigolds. But it a true sensory overload and should not be missed.
