They worked together to articulate Myo Clinic's enduring value, "The needs of the patient come first," as they developed the first integrated group practice.The brothers, fondly known to their patients and colleagues as Dr. Will and Dr. Charlie, credited their success to the inspiration and example of their parents, Dr. William Worrall Mayo and Louise Mayo. The close relationship between the two younger doctors was reflected in their insistence that any honors would recognize "My brother and I..."Dr. Will was born in 1861 and Dr. Charlie in 1865.
