| 説明 | The 1955-67 Singer Gazelle Saloon and Convertible was a sports version of the Hillman Minx. The nose of the car featured that traditional Singer grille. Initially with 1497cc OHV 4 cyl.1957 Series II; Estate available.1958 Series IIA; OHC engine.1959 Series IIIA; tail fins, larger windscreen, twin carburettors 1960 Series IIIB; single carburettor 1961 Series IIIC; convertible and estate dropped, larger 1597cc engine.1963 Series V; body update, rear window no longer wraps around. 1965 Series VI, updated rectangular grille, larger 1725cc engine.1967-70 Series VII, Rootes Arrow shapeThe Singer Gazelle was also produced in Australia from 1957 to 1961 by Rootes Australia. Following the merge with Chrysler Australia, the Gazelle was then called a Hillman Gazelle. Unique to the Australian built cars were the alloy head motor from the Sunbeam Rapier whereas the English Singer Gazelle has the cast iron head. |
