| 説明 | This is the stretch climbing from the junction to Caleta Tortel. The 130-140 km from here to the end in Villa O'Higgins is the wildest and remotest stretch of the highway. It's hard to imagine how much this part must've cost to construct... all just to connect one tiny little town with the rest of Chile. I was told it was conceived by Pinochet simply as a way to secure Chile's claim to the region around Lago O'Higgins. Hah! To think that I might have a paranoid, cruel, military dictator to thank for the opportunity to take my bike on such a spectacular journey! |
