| 説明 | Tin Lizzie’s design came about from the story of the astounding Lizzie, the elephant who pulled the Sheffield Steelworks cart during the WWI period. When the country went to war, the military purchased most of the available horses and sent them to the Western Front. Lizzie the Indian elephant was drafted in by scrap merchant Thomas Ward Ltd, based at Albion Works on Savile Street in Attercliffe, as a replacement to carry heavy machinery and steel around Sheffield. She was a hard worker but records of her time in the city also suggest that she was a bit of a cheeky character – she even used to use her truck to sneak food out through kitchen windows! This year marks 100 years since she started her work. Mik designed Tin Lizzie to look like she has been made of steel components with a smelting furnace, as used in the 1900’s, for her power core. The name ‘Tin Lizzie’ was also a nickname for the Model T Ford car – which was the car of her day.Designed by: Mik RichardsonMik Richardson is a Norfolk based artist who has run his own mural design and graffiti tutoring business since he left the RAF in 2006.
