| 説明 | In what is said to be one of the largest protest marches in London 10s of thousands of protesters march past "The Cenotaph" in Whitehall, Central London. The Cenotaph monument was built at the end of the first world war and commemorates the dead from both world wars. The marchers are protesting about the proposed £20bn cuts to funding of the NHS and proposed privatization of large sections of the industry. Workers in the UK have paid a percentage of their wage incomes into a National Insurance Contribution fund held by the UK Government for distribution to the various health system organisations doctors - hospitals etc.. Many countries think we have a free health care system in the UK but it has been paid for through peoples wage contributions for the last 100 years (Roughly). Many people see the privatization as a way for the UK government to rid itself of parts of the system, Private industry would be able to charge patients more money as their charges rise, thus ridding the Govt. of increasing the cost to their voting public.. People argue that cutting back on healthcare will effect patients lives and wellbeing, whereas money could be saved by not spending money on more nuclear weapons. |
