| 説明 | From the sub-sections one act play competition at MAHS. The Morris group took first, with Thomas Roberts winning an individual performance award!From the performance of this year's Morris Area High School one act play, Lysistrata Interruptae at sub-sections, Saturday, 31 January 2009.The director, writer, and cast of the play were all top notch, so we expected a lot, but we were still blown away. The play is an original piece about censorship last year in a (different) Minnesota high school, and it was a real challenge. The students rose to it, though, and delivered truly wonderful performances. This was a performance on par with most college productions, and better than many; that this was a group of high school students who'd only had two months to pull it together was really remarkable.Happily the judges also recognized what a wonderful accomplishment it was and they took first at sub-sections today. One of the cast (Thomas Roberts) also received an individual performance award. The cast go on to sections next Saturday, and hopefully on through the system to the state finals later in the semester.Everyone involved should be very proud of what they accomplished here - hats off to all! |
