| 説明 | I forgot to mention one thing! One of my favorite parts of the trip was getting Monja-yaki. In the previous Email you'll see a picture of food on a grill with someone holding a metal spatula. At the Monja-yaki place you sit at a table with a grill right on your table. The server brings bowls of chopped up cabbage, meats, cheeses, and other things to put on the grill. You toss it on there and start stirring, scraping, and cooking the food. Then everybody puts a few bites on their tiny plate and you eat and cook, eat and cook. One orders several things to eat and share and everybody has a good time. We had some beer in there and the atmosphere was lively. The place was just somebody's house with an upstairs room with 4-5 Monja-yaki tables. An old couple was manning the kitchen chopping up cabbage and making sure the portions were right. The lady comes around to help if you aren't sure how to cook this or that. It's a lot of fun! Everyone should try Monja-yaki! |
