説明 | Another of the monkeys in the Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud, Bali, happily munching away on a piece of sweet potato he has just been fed with. I was still keeping a distance initially but as you can see, the monkeys are ok even if you approach fairly close- this fellow was totally disinterested and is actually looking away! The simians will attack only if they sense that you are carrying food of any sort. In such cases, the park administration advises visitors never to pull back an offer of food to a monkey or try to hold on to the bag of food once it has been snatched. The park also advises visitors not to touch a monkey, as either action can prompt an aggressive response by the animal. Although they generally ignore humans who they believe do not have food, they have been sometime known to mistake a human's actions as an offer of food or an attempt to hide food. If a human does not provide the food the monkeys demand or does not provide it quickly enough, the monkeys occasionally will bite the human. I read somewhere that the monkeys do in fact, bite tourists on a daily basis, but I did not see any form of aggression on my visit except for one snarl when a lady pointed her camera a little too close to the monkey's face.
